In Case You Missed It:  The Center for Minority Veterans is sharing recent news stories that may be of interest to minority Veterans, service members, and their supporters on a weekly basis.

This week’s Honoring Veterans Spotlight honors the service of Army Veteran Doris Allen, who served during the Korean War and the Vietnam War. Doris I. “Lucki” Allen was born in El Paso, Texas, in May 1927. After graduating with a degree in physical education from Tuskegee University and briefly working as a teacher, she enlisted in the U.S. Army’s Women’s Army Corps (WAC) in 1950. [From VA News]

VA is offering updated COVID-19 vaccines for the 2023-2024 season, including an additional dose for people 65 years and older. The updated vaccines target more recent COVID-19 strains. Due to changes in the virus, it is important to get the updated vaccine. Updated vaccines are available free of charge to VA health care employees and Veterans receiving care at VA. [From VA News]
