In January 2023, VA will launch a new life insurance program called Veterans Affairs Life Insurance (VALife), which provides guaranteed acceptance whole life insurance coverage to Veterans age 80 and under, with any level of service-connected disability. Some Veterans age 81 and older may also be eligible. [From VAntage Point]

Today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is Army Veteran Rita Sarah N. Taitano, who served as a combat driver in Kabul, Afghanistan. Rita Sarah N. Taitano was born on the island of Saipan in the Northern Mariana Islands. Though her grandmother was against the idea of women serving in the military, Taitano was determined to enlist to gain valuable experience and provide financial relief for her family. The annual Melissa Washington Small Business Award (MWSBA) will be up to $5,000 and will be up to the discretion of the awards committee and Board of Directors. The MWSBA is awarded to a woman veteran to start or expand her business.
