Olivia Nunn knew from a young age that she would one day join the Army. Her father had been a combat engineer and she planned to attend the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. Though low test scores in math prevented her admission, Nunn’s parents supported her decision to join the military. [From VAntage Point]

Today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is U.S. Army Veteran Elsie Chin Yuen Seetoo, who served during World War II from 1944 to 1946. Seetoo was born in Stockton, California, in 1918. When she was 12 years old, her father closed his grocery store due to constraints from the Great Depression and moved the family to Xinhui in the Guangong Province in China. [From VAntage Point]

A recent survey conducted by the VA Center for Women Veterans found women Veterans age 50+ are the least likely group to use their earned benefits. Community providers and partners can work with VA, County Veteran Service Officers, and Veteran Service Organizations to better understand VA benefits. [From National Council on Aging]
