Representatives from Veterans Benefits Administration & Office of Women’s Health Services will join us as panel members. This event will serve to increase awareness on PACT Act with women Veterans. Topics will include: Healthcare screenings and services related to potential toxic exposures; the evaluation process and determining the presumption of exposure; service connection for various chronic conditions. The Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs gave special recognition to women Veterans Friday as they unveiled a new statue in Jackson! Each new woman Veteran monument, renaming ceremony of a space, a base – a park is a #CulturalTransformation and a step in the right direction to honor women Veterans and their centuries of selfless service to our great nation. In a special town hall event on Wednesday, Nov. 9 at the Washington D.C. VA Medical Center, VA Secretary Denis McDonough addressed the top requested concerns from Veterans and their families, caregivers and survivors. The one-hour town hall was streamed live on YouTube. Army and Army Reserve Veteran Maple Davis first started using My HealtheVet, VA’s online patient portal, when it launched in 2003. She was an instant fan. And now, as a volunteer with Disabled American Veterans (DAV), Davis encourages the Veterans she works with to use the portal. [From VA News]
