During Hispanic Heritage Month, today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is Marine Corps Veteran Queta Rodriguez, who served in Somalia and Afghanistan. Growing up in San Antonio, Texas, Queta Rodriguez’s family came from modest circumstances. Her two older brothers had joined the Navy; one was a Navy corpsman, stationed with the Marines. The long-term effects of virus are still being understood, but one in ten people who have contracted it may suffer from what has become known as “Long COVID,” which could threaten to become the next public health emergency that will challenge the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) system.
