Today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is Army Veteran Bernadette Agnes Payla Miller, who served as a nurse in a field hospital during the Vietnam War. Bernadette Agnes Payla Miller originally joined the Army Nurse Corps at the age of 21 because they offered to help pay for her education. Her main memories of basic training at Fort Sam Houston involve the heat. [From VAntage Point]

Today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is Marine Corps Veteran Jennifer Mascolo, who served as a field radio operator during Operation Iraqi Freedom. After graduating high school, Jennifer Mascolo thought she needed a source of discipline in her life. When her friend recommended the military, Mascolo joined the Marine Corps. She attended boot camp at Parris Island and then served with the 8th Communications Battalion, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit. [From VAntage Point]
