Sleep is an essential part of our body’s ability to maintain good health. Many people struggle with getting enough, which can be due to having difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep, and waking up earlier than desired. Even those who seem to sleep well through the night may wake up tired. The amount of sleep needed is different from person to person and may change throughout our lives. [From VA News]

Born into an Air Force family, Kathryn Tate’s journey into the Air Force began after graduating from Reserve Officer Training Corps in 1988. She was commissioned as a second lieutenant and went on to serve in various clinical and leadership positions across the United States, Germany, Japan and the United Kingdom. Tate worked as a clinical nurse, certified nurse-midwife and squadron commander. [From VA News]

It has been a little more than one year since the reignition of the Cancer Moonshot, President Biden’s call-to-action to reduce the death rate from cancer by 50% over the next 25 years and to improve the experience of people living with and surviving cancer. In that time, Cancer Moonshot has been a uniting force behind research, clinical care, patient stories and caregivers. The Secretary of Veterans Affairs (VA) has appointed five new members to serve on VA’s Advisory Committee on Women Veterans (Committee), in early March. The Committee advises the Secretary on women Veterans’ issues and makes recommendations regarding VA policy, benefits and services created to meet their current and projected needs. [From VA News]
