In the archives of American military history, the stories of the 100th Infantry Battalion, the 442nd Regimental Combat Team and the Military Intelligence Service stand as testaments to Japanese American soldiers’ courage, sacrifice, and patriotism during World War II. These units, comprised predominantly of Nisei (second-generation Japanese Americans), overcame discrimination and prejudice to serve their country with honor and distinction. [From VA News]
