For the first time since 2020, VA’s disability claims backlog has dropped below 100,000. That’s a 63% reduction since January 2025, when the backlog stood at more than 264,000. A claim is considered backlogged after 125 days. Today, only 17% of claims hit that mark — compared to 70-percent back in 2013. VA processed more than three million disability and pension claims in fiscal year 2025 — an all-time record. — VA is moving to restore Second Amendment rights to Veterans in its Fiduciary Program. For decades, Veterans who needed help were automatically reported to the FBI’s background check system as prohibited from owning firearms — without a hearing, and without any legal basis. VA has ended that practice and is working with the FBI to remove past reports from the system, so no Veteran loses their constitutional rights. — If you’re a surviving family member of a Veteran, VA is making it faster to get your benefits. Starting February 23rd, VA will no longer require separate decisions on Dependency and Indemnity Compensation and Survivors Pension. Instead, VA will pay whichever benefit is higher. Questions?
